You should have a great time in here!

My Schedule is pretty easy. You will spend most of your time figuring out the computer and putting books away. I wrote out a map of where are the books go according to their call number. The little white sticker on the spine of each book. Jill Morley and Sue MacGregor are good resources to ask for help!

It is important to collect books from classes at the beginning of the day. That is why I pass out the blue basket, so kids can return their books and you can get all those books checked in before your students come to class.

When looking up students to checkout to, look at their student ID number from the class lists. You can also search by students last name.

Thursday, 4.23.09
9:45 6White will come in for Checkout for about 15 minutes. You will not need to collect from them at the beginning of the day as only a couple of students will check out.

12:20-12:45 KSingletonKindergarten comes in and sits for about 10 minutes of story. They then break into two groups. Those that can checkout, and those that can't! Those that can get a shelf marker with their name on it so they can search for books and you will be able to know their last name for looking them up in the computer. Those that can't check out will color a picture. You will need to put markers on the tables and pictures on the corner of my desk.

1:22-2:13 1st/2nd Shults Shults' class comes in and sits for David Shannon books. Then move to the tables to complete fun Earth Day Activities. They can take the activity home or leave it here. It's basically for fun. If they can't checkout, then they do the activity but if some students can check out, this is a good time to let them.

2:17-3:10 4Henion Henions class has been giving me a run for my money!! They are squirlley and now come with a discipline clipboard. Mariela will give you the clipboard and you can keep track of the kids giving you a problem. Here are the kids to watch out for. Kyren, Blake and Sam. Do not let them sit together. On Monday, we had famous author Robert San Souci visit our school. AMond several famous picture books that he has written, he wrote the script for Disney's Mulan. This is probably the only time ever they will be able to watch a movie in library. Position the TV over by story area and the plug in is black and above the light switches over on the far wall from my desk. Start the DVD right away b/c there is a lot of commercials at the beginning. Then of course I would give yourself plenty of time to checkout, probably about 15 minutes.

Friday, April 24th
9:45 6Tennant will come in for Checkout for about 15 minutes. You will not need to collect from them at the beginning of the day as only a couple of students will check out.

12:50 5McAnally will come in for Checkout for about 15 minutes. You will not need to collect from them at the beginning of the day as only a couple of students will check out.

2Pitz 1:22-1:55 We are reading Henry Huggins. Read for about 25 minutes, then move to tables and do Earth Day Activity. Leave about 15 minutes for checkout! This class will end early because of Friday Clusters!

NO 7th Period Class! You can help out with Scrapbooking cluster or I'm sure you could go find Olivia:)

Assignment #1

Hello, here are my two answers to my 2 questions for assignment #1.

1. At my school we are using blogging to incorporate communication through our school improvement teams. I would like to set up a book club blog just to get recommendations from students on books they want to see in the library.

2. My mom and I set up Skype so she could see her three month old granddaughter. What an awesome tool to use since they live so far away.

Class 2.0

Again I am doing the challenge, this time with more gusto!!!
